Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Legends is one of the more substantial options if you’re looking for a free TMNT game on your phone or tablet.

Developed by Ludia, this turn-based RPG follows Leonardo as he recruits allies and enemies to take on the Kraang and rescue his brothers.

The game features more than 70 stages across seven chapters, along with a large roster of collectible characters. Bebop, Rocksteady, Tiger Claw, and other mutants from Nickelodeon’s TMNT universe all make appearances.

Mirage TMNT Fangame

Mirage TMNT Fangame inspired by the original comics

Platform: Web browser
Genre: Action, stealth, and beat ’em up
Status: Demo in development

This project stands out for taking its inspiration from Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s original Mirage Studios comics.

It reaches beyond the TV versions of the Turtles to bring the comic book stories to life through combat, stealth, and teamwork.

Version 0.5 includes two levels, a practice mode, and three difficulty settings that adjust stealth and the characters’ durability separately.

The developer plans to add more chapters and an arcade mode. Those features are still planned, so don’t expect to find them in the current demo.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game — Sega Genesis Port

TMNT arcade game fan port for Sega Genesis

Platform: Sega Genesis/Mega Drive via a development ROM
Genre: Beat ’em up
Status: Playable prototype

Ever wonder what the original 1989 TMNT arcade game would look like running on a Sega Genesis?

That’s the idea behind Gustavo Valenzuela’s project, which rebuilds Konami’s classic from scratch for the 16-bit console.

Version 0.2.0, released on July 20, 2026, includes a playable first stage, Turtle selection, Foot Clan enemies, a health system, and two-player co-op.

This is still a work in progress. The draw is seeing how an arcade classic can be rebuilt within the Genesis hardware’s limits; a complete port hasn’t arrived yet.
